Molly Schmidt, AMFT

Relationships can be the most meaningful and fulfilling part of our lives. However, they also have the potential to be deeply painful and challenging. I believe partners are our greatest teachers and relationships are our greatest avenues for growth.

In my work with couples I aim to support each person in identifying their core desires and learning to effectively communicate them in relationship. My hope is that, together we will create more emotional awareness, expand the capacity for intimacy, and explore creative tools and strategies to foster more authentic and intentional relating. By identifying the negative cycles of relating and creating new positive interactions we work to transcend that ‘stuck’ place and cultivate a new and enlivened relating style that invites more ease, harmony, and intimacy.

My approach is warm, curious, and direct. I bring humor into sessions when appropriate and enjoy creating a space that feels inviting, safe, and encourages each person to show up as their most authentic self. I view relationships as portals for deep transformation and feel honored to be invited as a witness and guide for any part of that journey with couples.

Training:

I received a master’s degree in Integral Counseling Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies. I have a background in Holistic Nutrition and Hatha Yoga as well as training in the Hakomi Method.

In my freetime:

I enjoy exploring the wonders of nature, wild foraging, cooking for loved ones, dancing, and being in the presence of beings who bring me joy.
