We are seeking independent contractors, who are excited about working with couples, and would like to be part of our community and get great education (CEU’s or bbs hours.)
We have a solid reputation for couples counseling and relationship therapy services all across the San Francisco Bay Area and the rest of California, so you can expect multiple referrals sent to you each week!
Because we are so established, we can help you to build up or keep your private practice full, and enjoy a steady stream of referrals… this means you can focus on your work as a therapist without working hard on marketing yourself!
Who We Are Seeking
Licensed and Associate MFTs, PsyDs, LCSWs, PhDs, Psychological Assistants, Licensed Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Sexologists, Doctor of Human Sexuality or other appropriate credentials and training.
The licensed therapists should have relevant training in a couples therapy approach, and experience working with couples. The licensed therapist will join as a contractor and receive a percentage from clients fees.
Associate Therapists – As Associate you will be paid through your approved site or supervisor. The Associate should have some experience in working with couples (relevant training an advantage) and interest in growing more in this area.
Our basic requirements:
- 6 available spots after 5pm (Two Days Per Week)
- 4 available spots before 5pm
- Possible Saturday openings
- Commitment is 18 months with room to extend and grow within the contract
- Attending our therapist gatherings online or in person
- Assist in our weekend workshop
- Join our yearly training
- Have your own office space to see patients in-person
- Attend supervision if you are an associate
Relevant modalities
It is very important to us that all the therapists we have in our center will have good solid training in working with couples, so we can stand behind our words of providing good high quality of service.
Therefore we will accept only therapist that have relevant training in working with couples, such as (but not limited to):
It is very important to us that all the therapists we have in our center will have good solid training in working with couples, so we can stand behind our words of providing good high quality of service. Therefore we will accept only therapist that have relevant training in working with couples, such as (but not limited to): Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT), Gottman Method, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy for Couples (AEDP), Imago Therapy, Hakomi for couples, etc.
We work on a tier structure, so depending on how many clients you have, you will receive an average of 68% (average 60% for associate) of every client fee processed. We have quarterly community meetings with all our therapists and free training meetings (CEU’s). In addition, you can volunteer to assist in one of our Couples workshops or weekend retreats to get more experience, gain new knowledge and be part of the center. Gal Szekely, founder of The Couples Center also has group supervision and consult groups available for you to join.
